The Year of the Verb

2016 was many things and theres no point revisiting the obvious - in economics, politics, sport or whatever. However, we will make one brief suggestion as to how the year might be defined.

It was surely the year of the verb. The winning lines this year have included; take(back), make, build and control. All verbs and all pretty short too. It was not such a good year for nouns, especially longer ones, which by coincidence have traditionally been popular in business-speak.

So maybe there's a lesson for communication, not just in business, but everywhere. Keep it short and maybe use a verb - after all, it implies action, which can't be bad.
